Soul Sounds Open Mic

I'd like to meet:

The Soul Sounds open mic is dedicated to providing artists with a venue to showcase their talents and promote their work. This open mic is a COMMUNITY event which means all*** are welcomed to perform and be a part of the audience. Unlike other events we encourage artists to bring information about their upcoming shows at different locations around the Twin Cities and to share that information. We also encourage you to bring any materials such as books, CD's or artwork that you have available for sale. **Please note - There will be a table set up for you to leave information about your upcoming events. DO NOT get on the mic just to make announcements or use more than 30 seconds of your time limit describing your event. We want to entertain as well as inform.** $3 DONATION REQUESTED ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~P OETS: Come down and share your completed work, works in progress or free-styles!!! Use the band or don't....it's all up to you. No electric Bass, Guitar, Keyboards or any other instruments that need electricity to run. There is a baby grand piano, drum set and upright bass in house. We're hoping to get a handheld acoustic bass in the near future. Acoustic instruments can be plugged into our in house amp. Horn, Djimbe, Conga, tambourine players and more welcome!! The face of rap (Hip-Hop if you will) has changed drastically in the last 10 years and the subjects have gone the way of ignorance and degradation. Due to the fact that a lot (not all mind you) of rappers content is not of the positive nature there will be NO RAP ALLOWED on the open mic list. HOWEVER.......Soul Sounds will feature certain Hip-Hop artists that will be booked by the host.
