Washboard/Dishes/African Drum/Set

About Me

BIO :
At 19 years old, I was hired as a full time musician, to play the washboard and the drum set , it was at this time, that I invented my signature washboard instrument, and polished my washboard technique.
In 1993, I founded “Sun Side Jazz Band”, the band released two albums. I also traveled in and around Africa, especially Senegal.
In 2004/2005, I moved to New York, where I toured with David Grisman and played with Paquito de Rivera, Dorado Schmitt, Angelo Debarre, Scott Robinson, Gil Goldstein, etc … at Birdland, Lincoln Center, Joe's Pub, Iridium, Satalla, Crash Mansion and festivals in Montreal, Rochester, Montreux, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Chicago, Detroit, Seattle, Portland, Austin SXSW...
2006, was spent mostly touring all over the country playing gypsy jazz with the Stephane Wrembel's Trio.
In 2007, The Blue Vipers won the "Subway Idol" contest on Fox TV ! Thanks for your votes!
We also played some exiting concerts with Steve Adelson including opening in duo for Al Di Meola, Stanley Klarke and Jean-Luc Ponty.
And lots of interesting stuff like recordings, movies scores, commerials, etc..
