Fellow fans of surreal and absurdist literature.People - I'd rather not let this machine suck the life from me.Real people in the real world are what interests me.Collaborative writers and musicians, Sega Genesis and Dreamcast fans, Saké lovers, grown up nerds who play Magic: The Gathering once a year, coffee snobs. Also, I have a blog at iw.electricbrainreserve.com - most of it is mirrored here, though.
If you really are interested in all that I listen to, here's a link to a page that lists my entire album collection .
Heat is I think one of the greatest movies of all time, and I'll never get tired of watching it. I saw Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas 4 times in the theatre, and countless other times. Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Memento, Wings of Desire, The City of Lost Children, The Big Lebowski, I Heart Huckabees, The Thing (1982 version), Blade Runner (dir. cut - like the movie listed previous, I love films with self-doubt, existential dread, isolation, and questions).
Kill your television. Don't be a boob, get a gun and shoot out that boob tube. Wipe off the frown, pick yourself off the ground, get a baseball bat and beat that fucking tv down. Climb up ten stories and toss it down. Drive across town, walk out on the pier, throw it over and watch it drown. I know, I know, I can hear you saying, "How can I live without The O.C./Survivor/insert tv show name here?"That's not living, that's watching others' lives. My heart would swell with pity if it weren't already overflowing with disgust.
Jeffrey Ford, Barry Yourgrau, Philip K. Dick, Kurt Vonnegut, John Updike, Italo Calvino, Gary Lutz, David Ohle. The literary journal 3rd Bed really exemplifies the sort of thing I like to read.
John Robbins, Barry Horne, Bono, my father.
