What remains after this fucking day

About Me

Created in February 2007, Herb Project is a musical entity based on the meeting of Delphine Herbaut (Herb) and Bruno Gaia (Project) and delivers the sound known as “Cathartic Goth Rock” or CGR. CGR is partly characterised by the use of the aristotelian concept of catharsis, hence its name, and/or the Joycean concept of epiphany. These influences make themselves feel in the construction of songs which are based on soft/weird beginnings growing into bursts of uninhibited passion expressed in different musical tones. CGR is also defined by the use of very diverse influences such as jazz and gipsy music, contemporary sounds or even asian and oriental music. A dark and uncomplacent approach to our contemporary world and existential crisis also lies at the root of CGR’s manifesto, even if the apparent nihilism and melancholy of the lyrics is only used to serve its aspiration toward some higher wisdom.

My Interests

Music:

Band Members: Delphine Herbaut : Lead vocals and songwriting; backing vocals, guitars ------Bruno Gaia : Arranger and songwriter; guitars, human beat box, ecological concern, backing vocals, chronic depression, tin whistle, existential crisis, percussions, nihilism, muttering, extreme misanthropy, sound engineering, general anxiety disorder, bass, joycean epiphany, primal screams, good and very bad vibes, abnormal sensitivity and miscellaneous sounds from a mad brain but NO SAMPLES! (other people's music wasn't harmed in the process of making ours!!) and no virtual instruments whenever they can be avoided (they DO suck buddy, they're bloody robots, they have NO SOUL mate!!) But well, you know what it's like sometimes.... You hate them but you need them...
Influences: Catharsis
Sounds Like: Being insane in an insane world. The moment when the coulds part and the end of everything seems a joyful experience after all. Primal screams of babies born to soon and still remembering the horrible way they died in their previous lives as slugs or cockroaches or, worse, old people hated by their relatives. What you've got in you head when it goes ka-boum and you feel like you're going to fly. That weird dream you had when you actually could fly.
Record Label: unsigned
Type of Label: None
