About Me

"You are only young once, and if you work it right, once is enough." -Joe E. Lewis
"Duc seizes the opportunity to explore fully what it means to be a human being." -Claire A. Gendler"Duc Pham brings to this earth the most incredible ambition to teach others (and to perfect the art himself) to live life adventurously and fully. Through the years. Day by day. And by the moment. If only everyone had a Duc Pham in their life." -Heather Pollock, February 2006
I am constantly reinventing myself. I want to read all the books in the world. I want to experience all the places in the world. I want to taste the finest wines and sweetest fruits. I want to create the images that change the way people think. I want to write the stories that last forever. I want it all.
Then: Studied at Berkeley. Traveled the world. Lived in France. Played drums and percussion.
2004 & 2005: Photographed all three weeks of the 2004 Tour de France, the 2004 Olympic Games and Paralympic Games in Athens, Greece, and Sundance Film Festival 2005. Traversed and photographed 14,000 miles of the United States, including stays in LA, DC, VA, NC, Florida, GA, Texas, Louisiana, IN, IL, MO, SD, WY, MT, WA, and Burning Man 2005.
2006: Sundance Film Festival, Vietnam, SXSW Festival in Austin, World Cup Soccer Tournament and Love Parade in Germany, Festival Internacional de Benicassim in Spain, Edinburgh Fringe and International Film Festivals in Scotland, International Photojournalism Festival in France.
Now: Starting my business. Writing my book. Printing my photographs. Shaping the future of America in the classroom. Saving the environment. Perpetuating chaos. Loving life. And soon--making music again.
Later: US Book Tour, South America, from bottom to top, on a bicycle. Carnaval in Brazil. Cuba. Mardi Gras in New Orleans. Frankfurt Book Fair. Running of the Bulls in Pamplona. Perhaps Shanghai, Indonesia, Thailand, and Cambodia.

My Interests

France, French, Photography (Concert/Music, Portraiture, Sport/Action, Travel, Fashion, Documentary) , Adventure Travel, Music, People, Fine Dining (as well as good cheap eats), Teaching Drums and Math, Film, Reading, Writing, Slam Poetry, Yoga

I'd like to meet:

Caveat: I *do* love to meet all sorts of people from all walks of life from all corners of the world. However, my Myspace page isn't about creating the "Duc Fan Club" or adding as many people as I possibly can. Perhaps my Myspace Artist page will be about that when I put it up. I've had requests from people to add me that I don't believe I've ever met in person. If we have never met in person, please send me a message and introduce yourself (tell me what you're about and why we should be in touch) before I add you. I get too many add requests to approve everybody and probably won't add you if you don't even bother to put my name in your message. When it comes to people in my life, I strongly prefer quality over quantity. So with that said, let's talk!
Who would I like to meet?
1) Open-minded free-thinking people who search for the best that this precious life has to offer.
2) Alicia Keys.
3) Cool people who surf to www.ducphoto.com and www.groups.yahoo.com/group/ducadventures
4) YOU, silly! What else is MySpace for?
5) International (or internationally-minded) people. People who speak French and want to experience French stuff together.
6) Photographers, models, writers, poets, slam artists, singers, musicians, dancers, thespians, and other creatives.
7) A good muse or three.
8) Ivanka Trump.
9) Cette belle femme:

Henri Cartier-Bresson on Photography
