About Me
Robert Gibiaqui was born in Caracas, Venezuela. A passion for music has been with him since childhood and he began playing the drums at an early age.Robert studied drumset with various teachers: J. Mato, Juan Luis Castaño and Luis Tomas Garcia; additionally, he studied master class with Horácio "El Negro" Hernandez and Kenny Aronoff.He has received nominations in Venezuela: POP & ROCK - AWARDS as: “Best Drummer†1999, 2000 and 2001.Later, he moved to Barcelona in 1999 to make a tour with Soma Raza and after he establishing in London UK.He has been playing for over 17 years and turned professional. He has been touring in: Germany, Holland, United kingdom, France, Italy, Czech Republic, Switzerland, Spain, Cuba, Venezuela, Belgium, Denmark and Austria.He has been performing in International Festivals such as the Pelle Rasso Festival in Torino - Italy, Womad in Spain, Open Air Festival in Mainz Kastel - Germany, Arrière Court Festival in Clermont Ferrand - France, among others.He has also played and/or recorded with: Le Pico, Capitan Melao, Desórden Público (Sony Music), Murfila (Sony Music), Soma Raza, Catalounge, La santa, Guandul, among others..................................................Show
