Not only was that the year of MJ with the Thriller album, but somewhere in a hospital in North Carolina was born a song bird. It was destined that the young girl whose birth name means song become a staple in the music industry. Saffire, a nick-named derived from her birthstone began writing, arranging, and singing songs at the tender age of 5. In her younger years she sung on several choirs and singing groups and also had a passion for dance. In 2002, she formed the singing group Blu Angel with group members Skyy and N'digo. Blu Angel was an all female r&b/hip-hop group who some might compare to the likings of Total and TLC. They were managed by former child hip hop star Gambino who's rap group broke the sound waves in the late 80's with their smash hit "Kick the Ball". As a member of Blu Angel, Saffire wrote and produced majority of their songs as well as did alot of the choreography. Blu Angel performed at several venues including Spring Fling in which they amazed the audience with their talent and stage presence. Blue Angel disbanded in late 2002. After leaving Blu Angel, Saffire continued to write songs and have worked with the likes of Traxx Trigga (Screwface Music/Fly Boyz), Randy Bowland (Gerald LeVert), and Steve Mckie (Vivien Green). Saffire is currently working on an upcoming solo project set to be releases later on this year.
