Wagner Barbosa, nasceu em Sao Paulo e com 11 anos começou seus estudos de saxofone. Hoje, aos 24, e reconhecido pela revista Cover Baixo, como "Um dos poucos brasileiros que tem a pronuncia e o sotaque do jazz americano".
Em sua experencia de 13 anos, estudou com musicos renomados da musica instrumental, como o saxofonista americano David Richards e o saxofonista e flautista brasileiro Vinicius Dorin.
contra-baixista do cenario mundial, Celso Pixinga. Participou do cd “Bossa-Jazz”, tocando na música “Triste” de Tom Jobim. Em novembro de 2006, gravou o DVD “O Jogo” no “CELSO PIXINGA QUARTET”, ao lado do baterista Giba Favery e o Guitarrista Fabio Santini.
Neste ano de 2.007, além de estar em turne de lançamento do DVD “o Jogo” de Celso Pixinga, Wagner Barbosa tem sido convidado a participar como “sideman” de outras gig´s do cenário instrumental brasileiro. Estando também em estudio co-produzindo o primeiro cd instrumental do jovem baixista Miqueas Santana, e gravando o proximo cd de Celso Pixinga, ao lado do pianista Tato Andreatta, e tambem o baterista Albino Infantozzih.
Como educador musical, residente em Sao Paulo , Wagner tem sido convidado a ministrar aulas em escolas de musicas de Sao Paulo, workshops e aulas particulares. Também neste ano de 2.007, lançou seu blog “Planeta Sax: Assuntos saxofonisticos ao sabor de um bate-papo”, expandindo assim, sua forma de pensar, afim de atingir pessoas de outros estados que nao tem acesso ao estudo de musica.
Wagner Barbosa was born in São Paulo and when he was 11 years old started studying the saxophone.Today, he´s 24, and is recognized by the "Cover Baixo" magazine as a "few of the brazilian that has the american jazz pronunciation and accent."
His experience of 13 years, gave him the change to study with renowned musicians of the instrumental music, like the american saxophonist David Richards and the brazilian saxophonist and flutist Vinicius Dorín.
In october 2005, was invited to join the band of one of the biggest bassists in Brazil, and internationally known, Celso Pixinga. He also took part in the "Bossa-Jazz" CD, playing his alt sax in the music named "Triste" by Tom Jobim. In november of 2006, the participated in the record of the DVD named "O Jogo" ("The Game") in "Celso Pixinga Quartet", playing with the renowned drummer Giba Favery and the guitar player Fábio Santini.
Currently, in 2007 he´s on the “O Jogo” tour, and he has been invited to join like “sideman” of others brazilian instrumental gig´s, co-working in the studio with the young bassist Miquéias Santana, and recording the next cd of Celso Pixinga, with other musicians like the pianist Tato Andreatta and the drummer Albino Infantozzih.
Like a musical educator, living in São Paulo, Wagner has been invited to give classes in musical schools, workshops and individual classes. Also in 2007, he started his blog “Planeta Sax: Assuntos saxofonísticos ao sabor de um bate-papo” (Sax Planet: Sax subjects in a chat), using this way to expand his ways of thinking, in order to reach people of other states that don’t have access to the musical study.
