Presenting: Ney Neto and the gang
Ney Neto is a Brazilian bass player, arranger and musical producer.
Along side Taylor M. he has played lounge music with the Chocolate Deluxe band since 2005. The debut album "Lounge Music Assortments" can be bought through the Amazon website.
This work has been used globally for certain hotel brands as ambient music.
"If you are used to traveling, at least once, you've probably had a nice dinner while listen to Ney's bass lines."
His first solo album (Electricity) was released by Origins Records for the states of Florida, California, and Louisiana and can be found in some stores with instrumental music sessions. Talk Bass Forum members have classified his work as smooth, mature and impressively thought out.
The CD contains arrangements by Michael Bown, who is an american maestro and pianist. The CD floats through jazz, samba, rock, fusion and lounge styles.
In Brazil, Ney is the bassist for the Jazzy quintet. He also produces and writes arrangements for his solo work which is called Ney Neto and Gang. The bands instrumentation is bass, drums, percussion, guitar, alto, tenor sax, flute, and trumpet and the group plays Ney's compositions, always mixing different musical styles on their tunes.
With the Ney Neto and Gang project, he has performed in the Cover Baixo Magazine festivals, sharing the stage with Celso Pixinga, Nilton Wood, Ronaldo Lobo, Adriano Giffoni, Miqueas Santana and others, including shows in the cities: São Paulo, São Jose, BrasÃlia and Cuiabá.
Ney Neto studied acoustic bass at the Souza Lima Conservatory and with Gerson Frutuoso. He also studied electric bass at the ULM in Sao Paulo and at the prestigious Berklee College of Music, in Boston-MA. During his time at Berklee he met great musicians, like Dani Morris, Ron Mohadi, Jim Stinnet, Rich Appleman, Matt Mauldin, Everett Pedleton, Victor Bailey and Bruce Gertz.
At this time, Ney is bass teacher in the Claves Music School. He also writes a column for the www.baixista.com.br, a website 100% dedicated to the bass. He was invited by Celso Pixinga to be the technical editor for the Baixo Brasil Magazine. This would make him responsible for the technical and didactic content of the magazine.
Ney endorses: D'Mark bass guitars, Power Click in ear monitors, Pezo Bass System, SG Strings, Hellocases hard-cases.
