STRINGBEANS was put together by two schoolboys: Sami Roine and Ari Kaukoranta, who had a similar sense of humour (sticking fingers up to people's asses...). This took place as early as 1985. The early line-ups of Stringbeans changed drummers often (obviously the drummers didn't share this upper class sense of humour). The best-known drummer was Ari Toikka. Probably the best merit of the early years of the Beans was getting to the album " Psycho Attack over Europe -86 " with Meteors, Batmobile, Frenzy....etc. This album brought the band some recognition outside the Finnish borders. As a consequence the band was signed to Tombstone records from Germany and made two albums " Crime & Punishment -88 " and " You better do it " (early years) on this label. After couple of years of hard rock'n roll life... (whatever it means) the band was close to splitting up for good and eventually the rhythm duo quit (actually drummer went hard-rock circles and Kaukoranta choose Goth & pop). Sami kept the dream alive alone, playing in different bands for a while where he hooked up with Tumppi Huuhtanen, a lazy but dumb drummer. Heikki Koivunen, who joined the band a few months later was already known to Sami from the " early " years of neo/ psychobilly in Finland in the beginning of the 80's. With this line-up the Beans made one great album called "King of Trash" (1990) and another not so great titled "Robots and Motions" (1993). The band played a few larger festival gigs, making an opening to the German gig scene, but soon afterwards Heikki was lost to the business world and Sami and Tumppi were looking for a new baseman. "Psycho Ville" Rauhala joined the band late 1994. The band released its best album to date in 1997 " String Along ", from which a song " Let's Make a Deal " received quite a lot of air time. After a couple of years of "quietness" the band started to wake up and amongst other things toured Spain 2000 and Russia in 2001.Time was right for collection of new & old material and rarietes " 21st century timemachine " in 2002. Sami has played some sort of " Stringbeans " gigs in Russia 2003 Spb. & 2005 Spb., Ivanova and 2006 in Tallinn, Estonia with different guys and some in Finland too but that's the another helluva story... Anyway, the Stringbeans has recorded new material recently!!!................................................. .......... ............................................................ ............................................................ ............STRINGBEANS discography:- "You Better Do It" (Raunchy Records FREP-002) EP 1985- "Total Jerk" (Extacy Records SBS-01) single 1985- "2nd Psycho Attack over Europe" (Kix 4 U Records KIX 4 U 3337) LP 1986 " Smell Of Kat " & " Demon Girl "- "PSYCHO ATTACK OVER EUROPE 2" (Tonpress Records SX-T 101) lp Poland 1987- "Crime And Punishment" (Tombstone Records TOMB-DISC 667) LP 1988- "King Of Trash" (My Way Records WAY 710) single 1990- "King Of Trash" (My Way Records WAY 1213) LP 1990- "Psycho Attack over Europe vol.1" (Kix 4 U Records KIX CD ) CD KIX 4 U 3337- "You Better Do It" (Tombstone Records TOMB-DISC 689) LP 1992- "Cream Of The Cats vol. 3" ( COC 003) LP 1993 " Total Jerk " & " I'll Cry Instead "- "Robots & Motions" (My Way records WAY CD 25) CD 1993- "Milkman Bill" (Jungle records ltd.
