I have no idea what I want to be when I grow up. I'm not aimless or lazy--I'm quite the opposite. I'll be beginning my MBA this fall. I'm eager to learn the art and science of identifying and seizing opportunity. Part of me wishes I could skip a few pages and start this new chapter tomorrow.
I have B.S. degrees in Finance and Marketing, and I've applied both to my careers. I've worked in financial planning, consumer packaged goods, and most recently interactive marketing. I've lived and breathed Corporate America and small business. I've also served leadership roles within marketing and entrepreneurship organizations. I'm excited to find out where I'll apply these lessons learned next.
If I could have my way, I'd shop, travel, paint and listen to amazing music all day. Unfortunately, I'm career driven, so my passions take the back seat to my more monetizable goals. I have a small aquarium with a single pop-eyed goldfish that randomly turned from jet black to gold. I play tennis when I can and I enjoy taking graphic design classes to stimulate my creativity. I live for red wine and pizza topped with lots of olives and pepperoni. I treat myself by taking road trips with my friends and snapping lots of photos of our adventures. Although I enjoy learning new things, I dislike reading. I much prefer experiential learning.
My name means "the beginning," however I recently learned that it's also the name of a fancy raspberry martini. I'm of Turkish decent, born and raised in Arizona. I speak the language and travel to Istanbul every few years or so. I'm neither American nor Turkish. I'm somewhere in-between.
