About Me

The Thrillbillies can be traced back to 1999 and a chance meeting between Scott Leidecker and Ed Cooper at Open Mic Night at Cypress Creek Cafe in Wimberley, TX. They soon realized that things clicked musically and knew for sure something was happening one night when, ironically, during a rendition of The Stones’s Gimme Shelter, a Hays County Deputy drew down on a knife-wielding idiot, and true to what would become one of our calling cards, as they say, ’The band played on’. That was the end of Open Mic Night at CCC, but the beginning of the as yet unnamed Thrillbillies.
