About Me

I'm a songwriter who also sings and plays (I don't like the "singer-songwriter" phrase, so I must dissent!)Currently I'm working on a couple of different CD projects--one is about done, the other I'm just starting. The one near completion--my old buddy Ace at the Sonic Deli in San Marcos co-produced and engineered, as did my friend Nico Leophonte at the Big Beat Studio in Austin. It features some great work by guitarist John Inmon (Jerry Jeff Walker, Jimmy LaFave, Eliza Gilkyson), guitarist Slim Richey (Jitterbug Vipers), Nico Leophonte on drums (Hal Ketchum, Chris Duarte), Doug Floyd on mandolin (Shake Russell) and Keith Carper on bass (Hal Ketchum, Kris Kristofferson). The new project is being produced by John Inmon at his studio in Bastrop.

The Ongoing Recording Project (s)

Things are still bustling along with recording these days. In addition to the work that I've done over the past couple of years at Ace's and Nico's studios, I began a new batch of tunes at John Inmon...

one music site is enough

Now that myspace allows 10 songs per site, I thought 2 sites was a bit excessive.  I took down the Paul Wilson Project site tonight.  I'll be posting some newer tunes from John Inmon's studio as they'...

new tune (finally)!

John Inmon and I just finished the first of several tunes that we have been working on at his studio.  It's called "Had an Idea," and is heavily inspired (obviously) by the Beatles, Roger McGuinn, Bud...

Progress on the new CD, part 3

I have a BUNCH of new songs now, and will shortly be posting some new ones (within a few days)..... So now we have a dilemma.   Do I make one CD with 18 good songs on it, or make 2 CDs with...

Progress on the new CD, part 2

Well, even more tracks are in the works.  Ten tunes in a stage of completion or near completion at Ace's, plus 4 tracks I've started at Nico's place.  Will all 14 make the cut for the final ...

Progress on the new CD

Work on the new tunes is going quite well. 2 songs, "You Make It Easy," and "Old Soul" are pretty close to being finished. John Inmon does (as usual) world-class guitar work on these tunes, as well as...
