The Scanditones started playing together 2003 in Tampere, Finland.They play Scandanavian rock music influenced by the melancholy of Depeche Mode,incorporating guitar styles from bands such as Hanoi Rocks and Oasis and using delicate melodies like those of the Beatles and early Bowie.The Scanditones, however, make their own unmistakeable sound.After a few gigs in Finland(2003) and Berlin(2004),the Scanditones were signed to Afterglow Music, where they then put out their first single "One Day More."Now, after giving a successful tour through Germany and Switzerland in March of 2005, the band is working on their first studio album which will be released this June on Afterglow.Afterglow Music is a Finnish music production company that has nationally had big breakthroughs on the Finnish music charts with bands Yö, which went platinum, and Uniklubi, which, in cooperation with Universal Music Finland went gold.
