About Me

Blur - Girls And B...**I was too busy for myspace for 2 months, but I'm back now. Keep an eye on the blogs, because I saved some on my PC for when I logged back in, and I will periodically post them, backdated for the original blog, until I am back up to current dates.**
Music is my everything. I'm a freelance musician/ performer/ actor/ model, and I work damn hard starving at it because I love it, and I'm damn good at it. You should definitely hire me [see networking info and photos] since I'm a quick study, and I'm witty and fun to work with; And you should all respect me, not dis me, cause I'm making ends meet without a 9-to-5.
Yes, I'm Bi. No, that doesn't mean I'm confused, indecisive, a flake, a slut, a sex toy, or have a secret boyfriend waiting to jump out and molest any women I'm talking to. I don't fuel the drama that has contributed to this stereotype. And I don't think chemistry is gender specific, for me, anyway.
I don't fit into anyone's boxes. I'm not flaunting it, because it gets me in trouble frequently; but I'm not bemoaning it either, because I like who I am most of the time. I like to think of me as "custom," a "work in progress," and maybe even a bond... I'm worth a lot now, but I plan to be worth even more later.
Other than that:
I love being social. I am fun when I want to be.
I live in an intentional community of 14 people, and I think that's amazing.
I am a Libra Libra Saggitarius, and I am proud of it.
I like romance, and sex, a lot; but recognize that it's not worth a lot of drama-- I'm better than that.
I don't have a car, and for the most part, I get by on my own ok.
I communicate with people, and I realize how important that act is.
I value passion and philosophy, and le joi de vivre, very highly. Life is amazing, and too short to miss.
I balance careful future planning, and constant past-analysis with the ability to let go and live in the moment-- one of the most sacred human experiences, whether it's in music, performance, creation, friends, activities, or religion. I think it's always worth the risk, even if it doesn't pan out well or no one else understands it.
The process of self-discovery through observing, experiencing, and questioning the world around, and especially onesself, is tantamount to self-actualization. I'm figuring my shit out. Are you?

My Interests

I am a geek with a wide range of geek cred: internet, pc gaming, RPGS, Adventure games, RTS (I suck at FPS), LARPS, techie and science theory speak, sci-fi, anime, fantasy...

I am well-versed and enjoy discussion on a lot of subjects. Some of my favorites: philosophy, judaism, world religion, psychology, people, friendships, partying, social dynamics and theory, music (all aspects and styles), politics, feminism, queer culture, gender identity, scientific theory (relativity, astrophysics, cosmology, biology, chemistry, biochemistry, oceanography, geology, environmental science, zoology, and probably more), pop culture, globalization, and of course, simple storytelling. Ask my friends, I have some crazy stories...

A few things I like to go out and do: glowstick dancing, ballroom dance (...Who am I kidding, any kind of dance...), Barhopping, going to shows, clubbing, parties (throwing and attending, especially themed ones), wrestling girls for prizes, drag shows, Yiddishekeit, karaoke, live theatre, carnivals, Ren faires, coffeehouses, movies, recreational flirting, going to Beth's, card games, board games, walking around Greenlake, thrift store digging, adventures, the outdoors (camping, hiking, picnics, cookouts, sports with friends, nature, the beach... I miss surfing and the beach from Florida pretty bad sometimes.)

I'd like to meet:

People who are:
Real.
Intense.
Passionate.
Intellectual.
Communicative.
...Attractive. :)
Non-Stereotypical.
Charismatic.
Independant.
Talented.
Positive.
Social.
Honest.
Fun.

And, most importantly, Awesome.

Music:

I won't bore you with the list. I am extremely ecclectic, have years of classical training, performed in a wide variety of Jazz, chamber, blues, dance, folk, and world music ensembles, and have fronted several rock bands; and I am naturally curious and adventurous. I really listen to almost anything. I am EXTREMELY picky about rap and country, and will probably turn up my nose to most.

Movies:

The Princess Bride, All Trek movies, Shrek, Antz, the Matrix (the Original), Fight Club, The Ring (the original), Neverending Story, Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, Titanic (the ONLY chick movie), Spider-Man!, Pirates of the Carribean, Manos: the Hands of Fate (best bad movie evar), LOTR, Shortbus (my current obsession by John Cameron Mitchell)... there are probably more I'm missing.

Television:

dont ever watch tv anymore... old favs: Star Trek (any), Rainbow Brite, Classic SNL, The Wonder Years, Pete&Pete, Recess, Sliders (pre-cable), Boy Meets World, The Daily Show

Heroes:

Billy Idol, Joan Jett, P!nk, the Donnas, Alanis Morrisette, Jeremy Soule, Dan Coleman, Jerry Goldsmith, Lutoslawski, Regina Carter, Stephan Grapelli, Bobby Yang, Louis Armstrong, Matt Freeman, Stephen Hawking, Einstein, Lord Byron, Emma Goldstein, Shakespeare, Queen Elizabeth I, Lupine the Great, Salma Hayek, Drew Barrymore, Cary Elwes, Katherine Hepburn, Frida Kahlo. And, most of all, my friends. And sometimes, my family. :)

A Long December - Part 2 (The Fancy Party)

The next morning I woke up gently, with the sun stabbing my eyes out through my window of half-sleep, at roughly ten. I tugged on the shade with one eye open: It was oddly gorgeous out. Painfully so. ...

A Long December - Part 1 (The Windstorm of '06)

Gone, daddy, gone. :/

It is the end of an era.  I miss it already. I'm not sure how I'm going to afford either a new car or the repairs, since I didn't pay for collision coverage. Go me. But I will try. When I go to t...

Yarrr.

Well, shiver me shurikens! I would tell dozens of stories about how awesome this shindig was. But loose lips sink ships, and captains can't do that to their crew. I'd have to commit seppuku. :DThe fin...

A scary thing happened tonight.

One of the waitresses asked me and another waitress to follow her home for a little ways. There was a guy that was really creeping her out. She even enlisted the doorman, who she had pose as her boyfr...

One year ago right now--
