About Me

23 Essex StBirmingham's newest and coolest bar! This hidden, almost secret bar has quickly become the it place to be and be seen in Birmingham. Every part of this intimate bar had been painstakingly thought about. Every element has been styled to the highest standard (check the toilets!) giving it in equal measures the bourgeois feel of a Parisian cafe and the edgy sophistication of an east London pub. Tucked away around the back of the Arcadian has meant if you don’t know its not there you are not going to go. This has meant the clientele is a 100% strictly in the know crowd. With just being a 2-minute walk from the Arcadian it also means you are never to far from the rest of the action.
On the weekends a rotation of DJ's playing a vibrant, anything goes mix of house, funk through to electro-synth-pop with lots of stuff in between. Weekends are hosted Jit & Friends with regular weekly guests. Jit has musically programmed house music events all over the world for over 10 years including 6 years at the helm for Miss Moneypenny's. He presently has his own management company whose clients include some of dance music’s biggest names. If you want to catch spontaneous unadvertised DJ sets from some of the industries biggest names this is the place to be.
23 Essex Street is open 7 days a week till in the day and till late (4am licence)
Food is served through the day and has a private dining facilities in the evening
