About Me

What to do when you're bored:Bored 30 Over is my garage band from Talent, Oregon. I've been a fan of instrumental surf since I was teenager in the '80s. I saw Dick Dale play at Laluna in Portland, Oregon in 1995 and was inspired to start playing guitar. I didn't get serious about playing until I met Dick at the Historic Ashland Armory in 2004.I grew up in southern Oregon. I didn't surf much, but I skated, bmxed, snowboarded, riverboarded (hillbilly water skiing), and built hot rods. If you had a fast car, most likely the cylinders were bored .30" over sized to increase the horsepower. If you hang out with wrench heads and rednecks long enough you've heard this boast hundreds of times: "My car's got a four on the floor with a 454 bored 30 over."--Drew
