DJ CHECK ONE THE GHETTO MUSICOLOGIST & LA RUMBA
PRESENTS THE LIVE MIX TAPE SHOW VOL. 1
A LIVE RECORDING FEATURING
AN ALL-STAR CAST OF LOCAL TALENT
March 7, 2007
DENVER , CO - DJ check one & La Rumba presents a live mix tape show volume 1. featuring local talents. This episode's lineup includes--- Vocal Talents: Black Pegasus, Dent, The Deadly Pins, Venus Cruz, P.A.A.S., Big House and Paradox--- DJs: DJ Dijon and DJ Cysko Rockwel—Musicians: members of the Future Jazz Project -Dameion Hines a.k.a. DJ Check One (Drums), Greg Raymond (Keys) and Casey Sidwell (Bass).
Most mix tapes consist of an intro, a variety of artists and segments in the middle and finishes off with an outro. Let me give you an example of how the night is going to go.
There'll be an introduction performed with the band and the two DJs battling back and forth with different tags for the album. The mix will begin with one of the artists performing one of their songs covered by the live band. Each artist will perform three of their own original songs mixed around in various tracks of the album. Some of the tracks will be instrumental tracks from the band, acappella pieces, and a battle between the DJs and the drums. All this will take place within two sets and will finish off with a outro.
The intent is to have the proceeds from the show pay for the production and print of this local mix tape for purchase at a later CD release show. The proceeds from the CD release show will pay for portions of volume 2, distribution and the continuation of this local project. The idea is to showcase local talent on a global scale in the form of product.
