The Pink Imperial Droid with a Heart of Gold

About Me

Created with mySpace Profile Editor beep boop beep) Hello! I am R2-KT, the Pink Imperial Droid programmed to reach out to kids who are sick, raise money and awareness for children's charities, and serve as a symbol of hope for Star Wars fans everywhere.I was created in 2005 by Jerry Greene and the R2 Builder's Club as a tribute to Katie Johnson, a 7-year-old girl who was diagnosed with brain cancer. Katie's sister Allie had the idea of creating me when she was watching the movie Attack of the Clones. When she saw R2-D2 watching over Padme, she thought it would be cool to have a droid watch over her sister during her treatment. She also thought it would be cool to have the droid painted pink and named 'KT' after her sister. In 2006 I was completed and began my mission. I have been deployed on hospital visits, toy drives, fund raisers, and Star Wars-related appearances. It's been a lot of fun meeting boys and girls and helping them out. I hope to make it all over the world and raise enough money and awareness that my programming will become obsolete.

My Interests

Travelling to meet boys and girls who believe in the magic of hope. Raising money and awareness for children's charities, especially Make-A-Wish.

I'd like to meet:

George Lucas (the Maker), Lance Armstrong (cancer survivor), Henri Landwirth, founder of Give Kids The World and concentration camp survivor, Hillary Duff (Katie's favorite singer), Elijah Wood (played Frodo on Lord of the Rings, Katie's favorite character), and Kristin Kreuk (actress who plays Lana Lang on Smallville, Katie's favorite actress).

Music:

Anything John Williams writes is catchy for some reason.

Movies:

My friend R2 goes on and on about his film career. I'll have to see his movies one day. Heart of an Empire is one of my favorite films, you can learn more about it at www.heartofanempire.com

Books:

The Gift of Life: the compelling life story of Henri Landwirth, founder of Give Kids The World and concentration camp survivor.

Heroes:

Katie Johnson, my namesake and brave hero who fought cancer without ever showing fear.
