Vote for us now in the ROCK ERIE AWARDS! (http://www.rockeriemusicawards.com/)"...they play urgent, impassioned, punk-influenced rock that aims to smash complacency and inspire people to make their lives better." - Erie Times-News"Every member throws their entire body, and seemingly their soul, into each word, chord, and beat." - The SpectatorThe Laundromat was first spotted in a row-house basement in Edinboro, Pennsylvania on Cinco de Mayo, 2007. It was Action Stock 2.0... A free underground show kicked off by the only four songs that the band had written at the time. It was a packed house, and the crowd shouted out for more. ...There was much more to come. The flood gates had opened, and The Laundromat gained incredible momentum. Songs came together almost effortlessly, and just one month later, they were booking shows and recording a DIY demo. Since then, they have played in bars and venues all over the Erie area and ever outward, and recorded an EP that they expect to release in April 2008. They've gained the respect of many of the best known bands the region has to offer, and quickly gained recognition in the local rock scene. They've also caught the attention of Erie and Edinboro newspapers. With raw energy and themes of love, unity, and revolution, The Laundromat excites, entertains, and leaves the listener with some food for thought.Ambitions... Prisoners in our modern world. A world that preaches equality and yet destroys solidarity by forcing us to constantly compete against one another instead of working together toward common goals and interests. A world that assigns a monetary value to each and every one of us, based on our lifestyles, choices, and appearance. Ambitions behind bars... Shackled by manufactured apathy toward anything outside of our current routine and mode of thinking. Words effectively silenced by ears trained not to hear them. A new sound is emerging from the rubble of a crumbling empire. Exploding outward from this confined cell like a newborn child from the womb... The beauty and fury of a new beginning. The songs we play are not a rally cry for violence, but a casting call for future history books. Words of hope, unity, and positive change. We are one amongst many who realize the importance of amplifying this message... To make it loud enough to be heard over the unrelenting bombardment of capitalist propaganda and the grinding gears of the global war machine. The longer we wait, the more hopeless our goals will become. The more we comply, the more we contribute to a self-defeating culture. The more we refuse to listen, the more we refuse to learn. The more we allow ourselves to be silenced, the more silent our words will become. This applies not only to us, but to everyone, everywhere. Your voice is needed. Your ideas are priceless. You have the power to make a REAL difference in the world. Speak up... Be heard.
