About Me

Hi, my name is Dave Ford. I live in Surrey England, with my wife Sue, and son Tom (13 years old) I have worked in the music business for over 25 years as a freelance mix engineer, remixer and producer.

I am always looking for new and interesting projects to work on.
I started work at Pye studios, London in 1979 as a Tape Operator, and soon progressed to recording and mixing. I mixed my first Top 20 hit "I Just Wanna" by Alton Edwards in 1981! I became a freelance engineer in 1984, and worked with many successful producers and artists including Imagination, Tony Swain and Steve Jolley, Paul Hardcastle, Oddysey, Trevor Horn, Stock Aitken and Waterman, Barry Manilow, Simon Cowell, Tetsuya Komuro, Max Matsuura and many more.
In 1988 I joined PWL Studios to work alongside Stock Aitken and Waterman, mixing for many of their very successful artists, including Kylie, Rick Astley, Bananarama, Jason Donovan, Sinitta, Donna Summer, Sonia, Lonnie Gordon, Sybil and many many more. I have also mixed many other club hits, (not SAW productions), including "It's A Fine Day" by Opus 3 and "Let The Music Lift You Up" by Loveland, "YMCA" (Remix) by Village People, "Copacabana" Remix by Barry Manilow. More recently I have mixed for artists such as Switch 22, Girls Aloud, Tigriss, Billiam, Ernest Kohl, Boyzone, Westlife, Liberty X and Robin Gibb. I have mixed in many studios all over the world in places such as Los Angeles, Hawaii, Tokyo, Beijing, Paris and Germany.
Since 1995 I have been working mainly in Japan and more recently China, working for some of the biggest selling acts in Japan. Artists I have worked with include Testuya Komuro, Ayumi Hamasaki, Namie Amuro, Hyde, Globe, Tomomi Kahala, Eurogroove, TRF, H Jungle with T, Every Little Thing, Ami Suzuki, Favorite Blue, TM Network, TM Revolution.
