Frank Durand Crespo was born in Havana ,Cuba on October 11, 1982. At the age of 10 ,frank began to study percussion with a teacher and then he knew he's gonna play drums and got into the school to become a professional at the Alejandro Garcia Caturla school.Later
he starts playing with professional bands like Sello LA, Papines..s son then he played with Bamboleo ,Klimax, ,Vanito Caballero, Kelvis Ochoa, Roman Filiu, Aldo Lopez Gavilan and he participated at the Concurso JoJazz in Havana Cuba with Vistel..s brothers and they got third place at the competition that is adjudicated by several of the most prestigious Jazz musician in Cuba like Chucho Valdez, Enrique Pla, Alexander Brown and others.
Soon thereafter he was invited to appear on Interactivo CD .... Goza Pepillo.... with the great piano player Roberto Carcasses and he was invited for Teresa Paz to play in ....Ars Longa CD .... Musica De La Catedral De Puebla De Los Angeles..... Then he got a call from Alexander Brown to play in his quartet . They played at the Jazz Plaza Festival and after that they play in Ottawa ....Blue Fest..... Since that he starts performing with some of the most important Jazz musician in Toronto and Montreal such Jane Bunnett,Hilario Duran with who had the opportunity to play with Randy Brecker at the Chet Becker Jazz festival, Roberto Occipinti. Alex Bellegarde. Frank was also part of the of the first Art of Jazz Festival in Toronto where he performed with Jane Bunnett and the Spirit of Havana ,Barry Harrys,Ray Vega.
