Two Ordinary Guys Making Extraordinary Music?

About Me

Glory Blue is all about breaking down walls. Whether it is the walls of music in combining different genres, or breaking down borders of its fan base. Whether it is young or old, black or white, Glory Blue is here to share its love of music with anyone that will listen.
Stephonne and Justin are two singer/songwriters living in Kansas and attending Benedictine College while pursuing their dreams of going down in music history. This pair creates their own unique style of music relying on whatever emotion they happen to be feeling at the time, which keeps the music real and true to its form. Ranging genres from blues to pop, and folk to soul, it doesn’t just break down walls, it bends and melds them into each other creating a sound that everyone can listen to and enjoy.
Inspirations for them are just the things that make up life: pain, heartache, love, friendship, as well as everyday struggles and triumphs. Constantly writing new material, Glory Blue released their first album last September (‘Melancholy Man’) while hoping to start recording its sequel sometime this next year.
“We sit down, I play some chords, Stephonne says what he likes and we write to it. Depending on how we feel at that point begins the emotion and style of that individual song. We write music because music is what we love and why we live.” (Justin) “Music is this huge abyss that can encompass every emotion, situation, person and possibility. I’m lost in it. When I hear a mere chord I immediately melt into the feeling it suggests.” (Stephonne)
“The name Glory Blue represents triumph and glory coming out of the struggles and woes (blues) of life and that is our mission as a band. We want to help people find that glory and let them know they aren’t alone no matter what they are going through.” (Justin) “We plan to do that in a big way and are ready to do whatever it takes to make it in the music industry. We know our music is good, real and has an urgency and a need to be heard. We believe in it, and we know the world will too. We are ready. We are Glory Blue.” (Stephonne)
