someday, I'd like to...
go hang-gliding; road trip across the country; learn how to play the violin; speak Italian fluently! go to Giessen, Germany; go cliff-diving; do mission work in Africa; learn how to fly fish; go fly fishing in New Zealand; have dinner with the Pope; go skydiving; make my own wine; adopt children; travel by train around the US; make the perfect cappuccino; break into a real haunted house; become a regular at a small cafe'; drink a Guinness or two in Ireland; sleep under the stars on the perfect night; become an avid gardener; design my own house, floorplan and all; and who knows what else!
Often we hold back from committing ourselves because we feel we are incapable of a higher level of accomplishment. We abandon everything because the peak seems almost unattainable or simply because what others do seems impossible for us. Nothing is more irrational than to be intimidated by something good. Let each one do what he or she can. No matter what the circumstances, even the worst, one is not excused from trying again and again, persistently. Vita non facit saltus, so we cannot hope to reach the summit immediately; we need the patience to grow.
