The deliciously versatile Gabriel Sage takes purity of tone and sensual vocal richness to the next level.
With a penchant toward early music, Gabriel has explored many of the roles designed by Handel including Rinaldo, Almirena and Serse during her studies at The Victorian College of the Arts, Melbourne Australia.
Also included in her repertoire are the roles of Cherubino from Le Nozze di Figaro by Mozart, The title role in Carmen by Bizet, Romeo of Romeo and Juliette by Gounod as well as a vast collection of Lied, Arts Song and Music Theatre.
Gabriel took some time away from studies to tour internationally as a solo performer with her original music- compositions based around piano and voice, largely influenced by her passion for the classical. She concluded her tour of the USA with 3 months in Hollywood CA where she played and sang with some of rocks most revered artists.
Gabriel has worked with Australia's finest conductors and directors including Vladimir Vais (formerly of The Bolshoi Opera Company), has recorded her original music with Australian icons from the Paul Kelly band, acted in television, film and theatre, performed as guest artist at endless showcase events and conquered the competition stage with her undeniable vocal prowess.
Gabriel Sage is no ordinary classical singer, she is a complex, accomplished composer of songs for the discerning listener. She also makes her living as one of Melbourne's most unique and recognised street performers, singing acapella arias to an endless appreciative pedestrian audience!
Gabriel is commissioned to perform the Mahler Kindertotenlieder in March and is currently raising funds to venture to Europe to compete in any appropriate competitions and most of all, in search of life-changing experiences and to steep herself in the original cultures of the music she loves to sing.
