Hyperion was founded Lublin, Poland in 1999 as unnamed project with a purpose to create music for avant-garde fashion show. The three-piece line-up (Artur – vocal, bass, sample), Michal (guitar) and Grzegorz (drums) apart from grinding ordered material, created their own, individual tracks in death metal style with psychedelic and trance elements. Just after 5 rehearsals their music was presented at a concert played together with Behemoth, Epitome, Triumph Of Gore and Azarath and one month later with Vader.
Few line up changes and the introduction of industrial elements in 2002 into the bands death metal brutal sound helped to shape up their style. Finally debut material, a 30 minute 8 tracks release entitled “Industrial Religion†has been recorded on September 2002 in Marton Studio , Poland . 250 promotional copies have been released and spread in Polish media thanks to Kultura Industrialna webzine. Hyperion was awarded the 4 th position in annually plebiscite of Thrash'em All Magazine in debuting underground bands category the same year.
After another line-up changes and few problems, second material has been recorded in 2004 in Selani Studio (known for cooperation with the likes of Vader). The material entitled “Mechanical Rebellion†was a conceptual album dedicated to civilisational clash of human race and revolted machines' ranks. Release contains 6 tracks plus intro and outro. Music is a combination of death metal aggression, supported by drum machine and postindustrial samples giving specific annihilating and dehumanizing atmosphere. Since this release Hyperion plays as duo: Artur Olejarczyk (vocal, sample, programming) and Bartosz Lemiech (guitars)
Members of group have moved to United Kingdom shortly after recording session where the bands activities slowed down a bit. Full reactivation of had taken place in 2006. At this very moment group is working on new album whose working title is “Cyberwarsâ€. The band is also looking for a record label to put on the release.
Hyperion shared the stage with: Vader, Behemoth, Devilyn, Trauma, Misteria, Turbo, Christ Agony, Damnable, Vulgar Degenerate, Epitome, Triumph Of Gore, Azarath, Shizma, Neuropatia, Infekcja, Fari, Perverted, Cannalis Annalis, Hard Resolution. Tomasz Danielski as new guitarist has joined Hyperion on May 2007, so with full line-up group is ready for concerts and new cooperations with media and labels.
