carapace ..KAIR-uh-pace.., noun:
Something likened to a shell that serves to protect or isolate from external influence.
CARAPACE Was an idea Luke had floating round since 2002 and had been waiting for the right time roll. Really came alive mid 2006 with help from Russ Burgh..... Russ was originally helping Luke get "Carapace" off the ground by throwing some ideas around but joined as the drummer after a three month absence. They continued working on other projects and towards the Carapace E.P when they were joined by new bassist Rhett. Personal issues caused Carapace to split with Russ in October of '07' but they have remained mates.
Carapace have begun writing and recording their E.P in their recently finished studio. They felt the need to re-write the music to a couple of old projects. Being half finished for so long had made them grow stale. Also commencing a new array of tracks in the process allowing Rhetts creativity to flow on Axe and Bass. A darker sound has emerged on a few of these tracks, thanks to new found direction and not to mention Rhettwoods boney fingers and Luke filling in on the vacant drums! When the album is released the lads will begin the hunt for axeman and drummer to complete the line up. STAY TUNED......Here we come, ready or faark'n not!!!
Carapace is appearing on a downloadable compilation album "Unheard Screams" thanks to Rayny from Canada's Moshpit Records. Check them both out in Carapace's top friends.
