I do relate and identify more with the Jamaican culture. Specializing in STARTER LOCS AND LOC MAINTENANCE. My locs are more TRADITIONAL, as oppose to the "Americanized" locs. I enjoy working with natural, chemical-free hair. I love my craft. It's definitely a form of expression. For me, wearing locs is not a fashion statement or hairstyle, it's a way of life. BRAIDLOCS are my specialty when it comes to starting locs. Although, I have developed another technique for STARTER LOCS that is all natural! Remember, my locs are more TRADITIONAL. I'm not a fan of twists or comb coils merely because they don't last long and will come undone when one washes their hair. With my locs you won't have to wait weeks or months to wash your hair. Braidlocs or Starter locs require no gel, wax, or tools. Your hair will loc much quicker than with twists or comb coils because your locs won't come undone, once they take to my method (mainly the top of the head). In most cases, the hair will loc sooner than the normal 6 ~ 12 months theory. Also, your locs won't have the accumulating buildup that comes with the products used in the process of having twists or comb coils. I mandate a consultation which is now free! You may have a soft textured hair type. If so, I'd insist that you start off with braidlocs or the starter locs as oppose to the twists. When your hair begins the locking process, or begins to lock, it will grow at a faster rate than before. They will start to bud, and get thicker and heavier. Therefore, I ask that you come in for maintenance at least once a month, depending on how fast your hair grows. I don't do any loc extensions. I work with YOUR natural HAIR only. If you've had a perm in the past, and you're now growing it out and have been for more than six months or more, you may still need to have your ends clipped to totally free yourself from years of chemicals. I believe in hot oil treatments whole heartedly. So, if you want to loc-up, be free from the bondage of chemicals and weaves, and you're ready to commit to the journey that comes with locs, then I'm the loctician for you. Most people who wear locks are committed to the style.M. It does not matter if you refer to your hair as dreadlocks or African locs. F. It does matter how you name yourself; naming creates identity.M. Locs and dreadlocks are the same. F. Dreadlocks relate specifically to Rastafarianism; locs are of African origin and are global.M. You must be a Rastafarian, Jamaican or from the islands if you wear locs. F. Most people who wear locs are of African ancestry.M. Hair is dead matter, a waste product that serves no significant purpose. F. Hair is alive and part of our Whole being.M. You can grow locs fast. F. Locs take 6-12 months to mature.M. All you have to do to grow locs is not comb your hair. F. Growing locs requires some work on your part.M. Coiled hair, Black people’s hair type, has limited growth potential. F.
