Mi chiamo Walter Ricci, sono di Napoli ed ho 18 anni. Ho avuto la fortuna di crescere in una casa dove la musica è residente in tutte le stanze e all'età di 9 anni ho scoperto di avere una grande passione per il Jazz.
Da allora, sono andato alla ricerca delle più grandi "voices" che sono mai esistite. Nessuno prima di lui è riuscito a farmi incantare, mi innamorai della sua voce e come prendeva i fiati; .. Frank Sinatra, quella fu la prima volta e stavo ascoltando "All of you" insieme alla Count Basie, erano 2 minuti in cui mi sentivo ad un passo dal paradiso.
Da allora non feci altro che ascoltare i grandi "crooner" che , oltre Sinatra, sono: Nat King Cole, Bobby Darin, Elvis Presley, Mel Torm.., il grande Bing Crosby, Tony Bennett e per finire Dean Martin, che .. uno dei miei punti di riferimento.
Dopo poco ho ascoltato voci femminili, come quella della grande Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday e altre...
All'et.. di 12 anni ho incominciato a studiare con una cantante lirica, ma continuavo a cantare Jazz nei pub locali e partecipando a varie manifestazioni internazionali, conoscendo molti jazzisti.
All'età di 15 anni, quando la mia voce .. quasi completamente matura, ho incominciato ad approfondire metodi vocali jazzistici soprattutto per lo "scat", come quello di Bob Stoloff, nella Jasbo School di Napoli.
Nel 2006 ho partecipato e vinto il "Premio Nazionale Massimo Urbani", dove ho avuto la possibilit.. di conoscere grandi musicisti come Enzo Pietropaoli, Fabrizio Sferra, Paolo Birro.
Attualmente continuo ad approfondire la tecnica vocale e studiare pianoforte.ENGLISH VERSION:
My name is Walter Ricci, am from Naples and am 18 years old. To the 15 year age, when my voice is almost completely mature, I began to examine in detail jazz vocal methods above all for the "scat", as that of Stoloff bobsleigh, in Jasbo school in Naples.
