BRIAN DELLINGER

The Passion of the Feist

About Me

Brian Dellinger has been writing and recording his own songs for over five years, with over forty complete compositions recorded. He played a few shows around the Phoenix/Tempe area solo and with his sister, Chelsea Dellinger, and sometimes with band-leader Elmo Kirkwood of the East Valley group, "Broken Robot." During all of this, he recorded his first album, "Vague Sense of Threat," which, even at a first effort, was filled with beautiful vocal harmonies, unique and catchy melodies, and mysterious lyrics. After getting some local establishment as a solo songwriter/performer, Dellinger collaborated on a legendary concept album with Kirkwood entitled "Beast Boy," which was very well received by many music lovers/critics. The plan was to co-create a dreamy piece with many movements all centered around one theme that was intensely ethereal and boundless, yet heavily saturated with pop-genius melodies and arrangements. This was accomplished, but Kirkwood and Dellinger needed an orchestra to conduct their compositions, so Kirkwood disbanded his current project, and they brought in Brian Boyer of Broken Robot, and longtime friend, Ken Ezell. They named the unification "Kirkwood Dellinger," (after the album the two boys made together) and have since played over fifty shows from sep. 06 to sep 07. They are still filling the clubs with their "brilliant melodies and layered vocal harmonies," -as was quoted by Get Out Magazine writer, Chris Hansen Orf. And Scotty Johnson, guitarist for East Valley natives, "The Gin Blossoms," has referred to Brian and Elmo as "The Future of Tempe Rock."
