Technology, science, astronomy, the financial world, fishing, luxury vehicles, German automakers, Scandinavian shit (go figger), comedy (I was raised on Richard Pryor and Redd Foxx), lifelong fan of the Minnesota Vikings (what? you got something to say?).
Cool people. Thinkers. Challengers. Smart people. Dumb people who have a dream.
I grew up listening to everything... lots of R & B, Soul, Motown, rock, pop, whatever was on the record player, eight-track, or radio back in the day (e.g., The Isley Brothers, Isaac Hayes, Aretha, Smokey Robinson and The Miracles, The Temptations, The Ohio Players---everybody had "The" in their name back then, Chicago, The Eagles, etc.). As I got older, my tastes expanded into jazz, particularly Brazilian (Sergio Mendes, Stan Getz, Tania Maria, Djavan, etc.), some purist (Miles, Coltrane, Charlie Parker, etc.), blues (Howlin' Wolf, Muddy Waters, etc.), rap and hip-hop. Barry White and the Love Unlimited Orchestra were major favorites. The Maestro was a musical genius. So was Jackie Gleason. Yeah, I said it. Jackie Gleason.
This could take all day. Let me just hit some quick notes: Kubrick (2001: A Space Odyssey, Full Metal Jacket, Spartacus, etc.), Ben-Hur, The Shining, Taxi Driver, Raging Bull (pretty much anything by Scorsese), The Ten Commandments (c'mon, it was a major spectacle when I was a kid---when Moses struck the Red Sea with that staff and made it split? that was the real deal---I wanted one of those sticks so I could hit my sister and maybe make her disappear), Pulp Fiction, Jaws, Close Encounters of the Third Kind (most Spielberg), Star Wars (all of 'em), most of the Star Trek movies, The Lord of The Rings trilogy, Woody Allen, The Incredibles. I'm tired of writing. I like movies. Trust me.
Star Trek and football. What else is there? Okay, cartoons (the old ones, the good ones---The Herculoids, Space Ghost, The Flintstones, Bugs Bunny; The Simpsons are cool). Used to love The Honeymooners and Lost In Space when I was a kid.
Sci-Fi. Heinlein, Asimov, Bradbury, Frank Herbert (Dune). UFO and other psi phenomena-related material. Books that deal with self-improvement...
...personal growth and mastery of the mind. Comic books. Stuff like...
...SubMariner. The Fantastic Four. Frank Frazetta and the great artwork he did of Conan the Barbarian. The Silver Surfer was my favorite comic book hero.
