Hi! I'm Carol Lynn Nesbitt, an artist and dog lover living in the Atlanta, GA area. I'm a pretty normal gal-- I live with my hubby, 2 daughters and 3 dogs. (more about them later!) I worked full-time for 14 years up until 2006.. I quit my job then and now I work at home on my art and taking care of everything around here.
My passion for art came to me about 4 years ago after repetitive dreams about painting. My style is a mix of folk, pop and realism. I believe in the healing properties of art in color and form and paint with positive intentions. I try to bring the animal's spirit into the canvas.
I sketch and handpaint every piece. This is not a digital painting like so many artists, but a traditional paint and paintbrush rendering. You can see more about my prices and process on my website, www.carolscanvas.com.

My passion isn't just for art... My greater passion is helping animals. My art is just one way that I can help the animal shelters and rescue organizations in need. I paint a lot of myspacer friends' dogs (with permission) and donate a portion of the proceeds to various shelters and rescue organizations.

My doggies are Champy (Greyhound), Lucky (Black Lab) and Sparkles (Beagle/Cattle Dog Mix). They take over each and every part of my house. Someday I want to rescue a weimaraner, bulldog, italian greyhound, pug, husky, dachshund, and of course many mutts!
I have a special place in my heart for rescuing greyhounds from the evils of the greyhound racing industry. I also am very concerned with the number of Pit Bulls in shelters and some people's stupid idea to ban the breed. How ridiculous! I get very teary-eyed thinking of any dog in a shelter and I hope that people in this day and age can get a clue and stop breeding for greed. Adopt for Love, Adopt for Life!!

Dog lovers & other like-minded people! I paint a lot of different breeds, but I have a special place in my heart for greyhounds, labs, pitbull terriers, basset hounds, weimaraners, boston terriers, boxers, pugs and bulldogs. I am also active with greyhound rescue and I support Grey2KUSA -- an organization that is trying to stop the cruelty of greyhound racing. I give back 20% to Grey2KUSA on any of my greyhound commissions. See my blog on this subject to learn more!
