About Me

Hey, it's me, theo christie, ya know, in Rosendale... so welcome to my sonic playground. ...and remember, no shoving on the jungle gym!!!!!!
Somewhere out there is an off ramp that leads down to a dingy ancient crossroads where the funky rhythm and bottomless bluesy depths of New Orleans meet the syncopated, haunted and heart piercing honesty of high lonesome Appalachia. On that corner there is this run down little joint and if you go in there you're going to meet all these old souls who will sing and play all the forgotten songs. the ones from before music was used to express emotion. the songs that created the potential for emotion to even exist, and when you hear them you are going to see all the layers and colors you've never seen before and the strings of sound that weave them all together. Then they will take you to the spot in the back room where you can pull up a loose floor board and reach down there underneath into the dark well whose waters flow all the way back to before there was an internal dialog. Where all you can do is follow the sound back to it's source. back there where music becomes a place, and once you start you can't turn back, and now you're finally getting somewhere.
...but in the mean time i'm doing the best i can to write play and record the music that's transmitted from "i don't know where" and that seems to end up spiraling around my head until i find a way to coax it down into some useful form. then it is sent from here in streams of electrons into your lovely ears where any of an infinite number of reactions could occur. anyhow, i just want to thank you so much for listening. especially to those of you who have given feedback, support, and inspiration. it's been so helpful to me i can't begin to express how much. and thank you all so much for not interpretive dancing to my music!
this recording stuff and dealing with all the digital crap is all pretty new to me and has been a major headache every step of the way. i need to give a few "propers" to some folks that made it happen. first to Josh Pitt who kicked me down his old Roland VS1680 mutitrack, and Phillip Brown for his endless help with computer related issues...thanks a guzillion, you guys are true brothers to the revolution.
