Asylum

The Lyrical, Psycho-analytical Invidual...

About Me

Born in 1977 and growing up in Las Vegas has taken Asylum through a couple of decades of evolution in the hip hop genre. Searching for his identity, he went through more phases than most. He was a car thief at 14, gang member at 15, drug-runner at 16, then, at 17 was incarcerated in the Nevada Youth Training Center in Elko, Nevada. During his time locked up, he came to his senses realizing that life was too short already and that his lifestyle wouldn't help in longevity. Upon his release, he became active in the underground hip-hop music scene and performed in Las Vegas at warehouse venues. He built a strong fan base under the stage name "Kid Solo" and was well respected among the top underground party crews and promoters. He moved to Miami and performed at several open mic freestyle battles with his partner in rhyme, Kozmo. They were well recognized in the underground of southern Florida and had 3 articles written about their struggle living in the streets of Miami and surviving by winning freestyle competitions for money. After a couple of years, Asylum and Kozmo seperated from future music dealings and he moved back to Las Vegas. Fed up with "shady music cats", Asylum focused on business and industry and became a marketing executive. Now, after much success and having built a thriving marketing firm, he is back in the music industry and working with a life-long friend ROKR to finish his album. Watch your ear-pieces and check your intellect, cause Asylum's first album, "Wordz" is coming....SOON!!!!
