Jets to Ground is the culmination of years of hard work and fate finally coming together.
The seeds for this band were planted a long time ago. Yet it seems pointless to list the numerous bands that came before or the many influences that have helped guide this Burlington four piece.
It’s enough to say that all four members have been shaped considerably by past experiences both musically and emotionally. They are keenly aware of how their band should operate and exist – as a group, as four voices and four opinions all working together as one. A scary and sometimes chaotic notion, it has nonetheless proved worthwhile.
As for the name…well, after reading this, it just seemed to make sense.
On a World War 2 battlefield an Air force general knocks the mud from his boots. He squints to the overcast sky and pulls an unfiltered cigarette from his shirt pocket.
As he lights the cigarette, a cloud of smoke fills the air around him and he looks up at the pilots gathered in front of him.
“Today men,†he bellows, “there will be no rousing speech. There will be no dramatic words, or inspiring moment to guide you.â€
“Only this – we’ve all come so far. We’ve won and lost together – as brothers. We have fought every battle together – as brother. And so today men…today I ask only this. You come back here as you leave now…you return home safely…
…you bring those jets to ground.â€
