We had a hell of a summer playing great shows at the Molson Amphitheatre VIP bashes for JACK JOHNSON, WHITE STRIPES, BLUE RODEO, NIN as well as NICKELBACK and RADIOHEAD.The new cd "PEACE, LOVE, AND SONNY BOY" was released in June of 2008 and is now available on ITUNES which features amazing vocals and textures that are a melting pot of styles from vast musical experience.

singer/songwriter Steve McPhail first picked up the guitar at the age of 11. It wasn't long after that he knew that music would be his lifelong love. Growing up in the Northern Ontario town of Sault Ste. Marie, he was singing in school festivals, teaching guitar and playing professional gigs by the age of 15. It was here that he had his first taste of playing in front of 5000 seat arena shows opening up for Ted Nugent. Sonny Boy used the money he made from teaching and performances to help pay for his post secondary education. After graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree from Lake Superior State University, he moved to Burlington Ontario to pursue his love of music, performing with some of Toronto's premier club acts, TOTAL STRANGER, PEPPER KAT, DIZZY BITES AND FALL FROM GRACE. as well as owning and operating Melody Man Studios (teaching and recording studio).
Steve has also been writing with and producing several "up and coming" artists in the G.T.A.
Over the past few years Sonny Boy Mick has toured Southern Ontario extensively playing as many as 50 weeks out of the year. He has opened for, as well as performed in festivals with the likes of Weezer, Sass Jordan, Kim Mitchell, Colin James, Tomi Swick, Radiohead, NIN to name a few. He has also worked as a studio musician making guest appearances as a vocalist and guitarist on several CD projects, and has even done some work with the Humble and Fred Morning Show on 102.1 The Edge through the late 90's Sonny Boy's previous project was the alternative rock band Fall From Grace, in which he was the lead vocalist and guitarist. Fall From Grace was released in seven territories throughout Europe and performed constantly.The first solo project from Sonny Boy Mick titled "The Vibe of My Acoustic" was released in March 2001. It was recorded at Melody Man Studios in Burlington Ontario, during the months of November and December 2000. This collection of songs was recorded in a series of live sessions that capture the essence and energy of Sonny Boy's unique vocal style and songwriting abilities. The SINGLE "HALLELUJAH" a cover of Leonard Cohan's masterpiece has had numerous downloads and great reviews on Itunes in the past while.
