About Me

My Interests

geography, music, history, hiking, geology, performance art, booty, comedy, parenting, pop culture (though not so much anymore...), family, and community.

I'd like to meet:

Someone who values my genius enough to pay me what I'm worth to do something that interests me.

Music:

Robyn Hitchcock / Mountain Goats / Pixies / Unwound / Al Green / Amps for Christ / Chris Knox / The Microphones / Marvin Gaye / Bob Dylan / Legendary Jim Ruiz Group / Low / Palace / Coil / Beatles / Pink Floyd / Spaceheads / Danielle Howle / April March / Edith Frost / Loren Mazzacane Connors / The Carpenters / Roger Miller / DQE / EC8OR / Big Black / Laibach / Killdozer / Half Japanese / Pussy Galore / Sebadoh / Chandra / Dick Schory's Percussion and Brass Ensemble / The Three Suns / Cheap Trick / Jandek / Wesley Willis / MC Paul Barman / MC Solaar / Jurassic 5 / Matthew Shipp / Harry Nillson / Merzbow / Bone Cellar / The Purdins / Gillian Hills / The Aluminum Group / Neutral Milk Hotel / Songs: Ohia / Melvins / The Frogs / The Nectarine No. 9 / Super Duo / Bjork / ENO / Sun City Girls / Godspeed You Black Emperor / Two Ton Boa / Sun Ra / Sonic Youth.
But most recently:

Movies:

Topper Returns, The Empire Strikes Back, River's Edge, LOTR, Into the Night, Magnolia, Chasing Amy, Blade Runner, Velvet Goldmine, Human Tornado, Cannibal! The Musical, Before Sunrise, Waking Life, Heathers, Traffic, So Wrong They're Right, Half Japanese: The Band That Would Be King, Better Off Dead, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Groundhog Day, Holy Smoke, Orgasmo, Sex and Lucia, Spider Man 2, and The Truman Show.

Television:

Myth Busters, Nova, Battlestar Galactica, Entourage, The Office, Fawlty Towers, Three's Company, Tales of the Gold Monkey, Globe Trekker, Hunter, Magnum PI, TJ Hooker, The Fall Guy, The Anna Nicole Show, The Love Boat or anything with Rip Taylor...

Books:

The Lord of the Rings trilogy by JRR Tolkein, Alexander Hamilton by Ron Chernow, An Historical Atlas of the Pacific Northwest by Derek Hayes, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams, Galapagos by Kurt Vonnegut, Catcher in the Rye by Sallinger, In a Sunburned Country by Bill Bryson, A Brief History of Time by Stephen Hawking, and the Harry Potter series.

Heroes:

What a funny concept. Heroes. Hmmm... Nobody is without fault. I think that there is some ideal in my head but ultimately, everyone dissapoints. The way that John Lennon descibes "God as a concept" might come close --- it explores the same region in my brain anyway. There are artists, philosophers and scientists who inspire me, but I think that in the end I'll be the most like my grandfather, uncle, mother, and father. Family. Family is my hero.

So, I saw the Order of the Phoenix this afternoon.  It was what you would expect.  Pretty good but lacking all the depth of the book.  All of the convoluted intrigue has been sapped fro...

Today I rested.

Nothing much happened today and that was good.  I took the day off of work to re-coup my energy but at it turned out, I woke up feeling a bit sick anyway.  I've been fighting this thing all ...
