Talent, beauty and intrigue come in many forms. But you can find all three in the compelling voice of Minneapolis native, Breanna. Breanna could be Minnesota’s next pop music singer to climb to national prominence. With a voice as natural and soulful as she is unassuming and alluring, the young artist from the Twin Cities suburb of Eagan stands on the threshold.
"There’s something very special about her voice," says Grammy-nominated producer, Jud Friedman, recalling the first time he heard her sing: "…that little mysterious Minneapolis thing. You’re not sure what it is, but she’s got this sound in her that is so soulful and emotional. Breanna's voice stands out; it has power and passion, and her technique was always in the service of communicating real emotion, not just going over the top for its own sake."
Breanna is currently in Los Angeles recording material for her next album. She is working with Jud Friedman, Grammy winning producing team, Transcenders, and songwriter/producer William Hanford Lee, Jr. In between recording sessions, she has performed the national anthem for professional sports teams such as the Los Angeles Dodgers, Lakers, Sparks, and Galaxy. She also performs at other selective shows around town.
Breanna has performed for thousands of fans at radio shows, sporting events, charity shows and club dates. Her last album, “No Other Loveâ€, containing the hit single, “You Don’t Have to Be Strong†was featured as “Single of the Week†on iTunes where it broke the record for number of downloads.
Breanna lists Lauryn Hill and Jewel as two of her favorite singer-songwriters; and Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, Alicia Keys and india.arie as some of her most admired singers and influences.
"I’ll always be singing no matter what happens," she insists. "Even if it’s by myself on some street corner!" Chances are more than just the lamppost will be privy to this young woman’s splendid vocal prowess.
Everyone will soon be hearing a lot more of Breanna’s "mysterious little Minneapolis thing".
