Tat is an experiment. They are a group of people playing around to see what will happen next - nobody is certain. There is a greater sense of uncertainty (though this is said to feel good like an icecream in the park on a Sunday in summertime). Some of them would hug chaos if they could. Somebody decided the only condition would be that there shouldn't be any lifestyle, politics, or news items in Tat, but nobody knows why. Perhaps it's because somebody said they were suffering from news fatigue and preferred the days when you felt ok just standing in line at Tesco, watching stuff happen, thinking even, and you didn't have to watch BBC News 24. Or maybe it's because the news is too serious? But most probably it might be because the news isn't serious enough.Hopefully you will see that we are never sardonic; only bemused. (We hope you are too).We are in Canterbury and publish the magletzine locally. Want one? We can send you one! Just let us know.

My Interests

Magazines and pamphlets. People who produce stuff. People who are older now than they were last week.

Yes you can now donate! Suggested Donation 20p or enough to cover a stamp if you want one sent to you. Whatever way you look at it you have to admit that it's a good deal. Each Tat costs about 40p to print..When Mr Printer worked out the maths it was a shock! Making profit is unlikey but if we get to that magical day when paper money flutters down from the sky then profits would be put back into the magletzine... Imagine, colour one day....and more pages. mmmmmnnn.

More thoughts on the news:
One thing Tat doesn't do is pay any attention to the news: events that happened to other people, elsewhere, and are reported by someone else who may or may not have been there whilst it happened, and in their portrayal of an event is inescapably influenced by ideology, and more often than not by an agenda! And so are we when we read or watch it! And then to make it worse it dares parade as fact! If you join Tat in boycotting the news you will still find out about all the main events; they are inescapable. Celebrity 'news' is the modern equivalent of the town gossip and serves the same function. The gossip makes it up as they go along but despite ourselves we stand there with open mouths trying to catch every nugget of information or fallacy that they spew out in our direction. And we like it because it is easy. Do yourself a favour; don't read the news, only read comment (and Tat of course).

The Free Bonanza
