A close friend of sean said, "If someone took the mojo of Jim Morrison and mixed it with the mojo of Jimmy Page you'd be close to understanding sean martyr . It has also been said that sean martyr is somewhere between johnny cash and trent reznor but more like jack white,...regardless of these comparisons, like them, the music of sean martyr stands on its own.
As a singer, his voice and style has been compared to jim morrison, chris cornell, or bono, while having a personal feel like springstein or neil young. (A fan once said, 'hes got a soul like George Harrison, yet if he sings Hey Jude and you close your eyes, you expect to see Paul when they're open again.') sean martyr songwriting has been recoginzed nationally and internationally and he rocks on guitar!
His songwriting has many harder classic rock influences but also alternative rock, roots rock, and garage. When asked about influences sean martyr says, "I try very hard to learn from everyone successful in rock to see what they all have in common. Then I use what I learn to express my own music...I'm obsessed with music and giving something interesting to listeners in all aspects instead of just becoming my influences,...The most important part to me is creating honest music that grabs peoples attention then letting them be their own judge. I perform the same way."

"I start with simplicity then build up to what it needs.
