Movies, books, cartoons (Simpsons/Futurama are tops), tv/dvds, comedy (live stand-up is fabulous), ice hockey (wish I could play but I can't), computer games, internet stuff (www.homestarrunner.com), drawing/painting, djembe drumming now and then, food, sleeping, yoga, gardening (only that's more of a necessity isn't it? I may as well put 'housework' then... although, it does get me outdoors a bit), shopping... does drinking count?
Eddie Izzard, Kevin Smith, Jim Carrey, Michael Moore, Matt Groening, Natalie Portman, Dave Grohl, the person who invented 'Cheese Strings', and, if he was still alive, Bill Hicks. More realistically, I would just like to meet people who I can learn from and who stretch me mentally - and I do so every day! Well... MOST days. SOME days. Now and then...
Ooh - I like lots of different music. Too many to list...mostly rock stuff I guess. At the moment though, my faves are; The Killers, Muse, The Kaiser Chiefs, Maximo Park, Nine Black Alps, The Arcade Fire, The Coral, System of a Down, The Bravery, The Hives, The Foo Fighters, The Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Green Day, The White Stripes, My Chemical Romance, The Strokes, Blink 182, Good Charlotte, The Lost Prophets, Gorillaz, Reel Big Fish, The Tragically Hip, Jamiroqui, Gorillaz, Franz Ferdinand, Scissor Sisters, They Might Be Giants, Stereophonics and Kasabian... loads more. I also love Tom Lehrer stuff - soooooo funny; my whole class know the words to 'Poisoning Pigeons in the Park', heh heh. Too much good stuff... I'll have to just keep editing this as I remember I suppose.Like now!!! Arctic Monkeys. Can't get them outta my head - which is actually pretty irritating as it turns out... but damn they do good tunes. Also, The Editors, Hard-Fi, We Are Scientists... and I heard stuff today by a band called Me First and the Gimme Gimmes! Choller. The Fratellis are on my cd player a lot now, as are Kasabian. Been loving C.S.S too, and I can't believe I haven't mentioned Black Rebel Motorcycle Club on here yet! Haha. All good.
Whoa. Am I seriously meant to list the movies I love here? No way! Well, I used to work in a cinema so I've seen waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too many films. I generally like comedies and horrors, but some of my favourite movies have been really random, last minute choices. erm... some of my favourites (think Donna think!)... right: Happy Gilmore, The Usual Suspects, Dude Where's My Car, Slapshot, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Anchorman, Rocky Horror Picture Show, The Fog, The Colour of Money, Blazing Saddles, Young Frankenstien, Memento, The Shining, The Big Lebowski, The Matrix (first one rocked), Leon, Trading Places, most Kevin Smith stuff (wtf was up with Jersey Girl?!!?), Grosse Pointe Blanc, Ed Wood, American Werewolf in London, Little Miss Sunshine, Sin City, Fight Club, most Quentin Tarantino stuff... jeez this is too difficult to do at stupid o'clock at night. I'll edit this later.(Latest movie lurve = Hot Fuzz - so very very funny. Laughometer last hit that level while watching the Borat movie!)
Trailer Park Boys is one of my faves at the moment - I love it! I'm so addicted to The Simpsons that it's not even funny, and I pretty much know all of Futurama by heart... sad. Other toons - Spongebob, Powerpuff Girls, Samurai Jack, Courage the Cowardly Dog, Ren and Stimpy, Family Guy, Space Ghost, Sea Lab 2021, Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Harvey Birdman, Monkey Dust... others I can't remember at the mo. I do like some cheesy girlie type stuff, like Joan of Arcadia, Sex and the City and Desperate Housewives, but, generally speaking, it's comedy shows all the way! Little Britain, Red Dwarf, Phoenix Nights, Brass Eye, Alan Partridge, The Day Today, People Like Us, Spaced, and of course, Monty Python, to name but a few. Delicious. Also, I have a weakness for ghost hunting/spiritual type stuff; Most Haunted - yes. Oh and of course, Twin Peaks - a classic.
Horror stuff - oh yes. Stephen King, Chuck Palahniuk and Clive Barker are my faves. I also read a lot of, ahem, 'kids books' - Harry Potter, The Stinky Cheese Man, The Three Little Wolves and The Big Bad Pig etc etc. They're actually a lot better written than most adult fiction! My favourite non-fiction book is Fingerprints Of The Gods, about the correlation between the pyramids and other monuments around the world, and I am really getting into The Celestine Vision. Cool stuff. Currently reading: 'The Superior Person's Book of Words', 'The Celestine Prophecy Experiential Guide', 'The Life You Were Born To Live' and 'Haunted'. Selling a lot of books on Amazon right now - don't wanna but I need the money!
