The ILWU

Unofficial public relations page for the ILWU

About Me

This page is managed by a PR guy for the International Longshore and Warehouse Union , or ILWU. This is an unofficial page and does not necessarily reflect the views of the Officers, staff, locals or district councils of the ILWU. If you have questions about the content on this page, send a message through the MySpace mail system or write directly to Bill Orton .
You may also wish to visit the YouTube page that Bill maintains for the ILWU, where you can see ILWU members at work discharging cargo at the Port of Los Angeles. This is dangerous work, where a gust of wind or a split-second can spell the difference between life and death.
This page is maintained by Bill Orton as part of the public relations services provided to the ILWU. This is meant as one more tool to link together members and supporters of the ILWU, but this is an unofficial page. It does not necessarily reflect the views of the Titled Officers, International, Coast, District Councils or Locals of the union. Bill is a communications consultant TO the union, but he is not a spokesman FOR the union nor a member OF the union... Just so you know.

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

This page is for ILWU Members or Supporters. It'd be GREAT if you were to tell your own list of friends to add this page, as part of the purpose here is to build a big ILWU community. When the west coast longshore contract -- and other ILWU challenges -- comes up, we should be able to use every tool available to blast our message out. And this is an important tool.
