DRUMMER & DRUM TEACHER
My earliest memory of how I got interested in the drums is when I was at Primary school. Music lessons were pretty dull but we got to choose what instrument we got to play, everyone would usually go for the triangle or the woodblock, I would always go for this snare drum (probably a really nice vintage one…wonder if they still have it?!)
Away from those music lessons I would then use my pencil case in lessons pretending it's a drum…resulting in flicking ink all over my work and my classmates. Then when I was 14 I discovered a friend had a drum kit, I then got a kit of my own spent hours listening and looking at different drummers from all genres of music, looking at their approach to the kit.
I took private lessons for 2 years with a really great drummer, Jez Owen, A fantastic drummer and bloke. I now take lessons from Darrin Mooney.
At school I joined the Beacon Community college Jazz band, then onto percussion and did a slot on the Radio for the BBC. I finished school to study music at college for a year, for an OCN music diploma. I'm a trained and qualified Drumsense Teacher, taught at One8e Studios for 2 years and I now teach at privately at home. I've been teaching since I was 16yrs old.
I’ve done / do session work, from all genres of music that have ranged from symphonic power metal to Indie, rock, jazz, gigging all over the country.
The Indigo was my first band that I joined at 16, The band was quite like The Black Keys / Radiohead and that gave me a load of experience especially playing with people much older than me....not that they acted it! The band is no longer together (2003-2005). I’d been with them gigging and recording non-stop.
One of the power metal band I've played for was Crimson Tears. I'm featured Drumming on the band's EP called "Gothica", we recorded and produced that at "Thin Ice Studios" with Karl Groom from Threshold.
After Crimson Tears I was then asked to join "Jonny Quality" who have toured with Fatboy Slim across USA, Europe, also co writing the track "Long Way From Home" on his latest album Palookaville and doing TV and Radio appearances on Jonathan Ross show, T4 and TRL. I have played at festivals including the Isle of Wight, Reading and the Brighton Music Festival and a long list of gigs through out Brighton.

After Jonny Quality ended I then went on to play for a Brighton Indie / Rock band called "Officer Rose" I gigged with them from December 2006 through to May in 2007.
I then later on in June 2007 I started session work for a singer called "Jennie Saunders" who is a jazz / folk artist.
I’ve also auditioned for the “Kerrang†award winners, “Brigade†I finished in the top 3 out of 40 drummers. Great guys and a great band.
((LATELY 2008))
I'm drumming for "Maria Willson" After touring with Busted, she's worked on breaking into the music business and making a name for herself. Her well known hits include Chooza Looza and Mr.Alibi. We've recently just played The Royal Albert Hall as part of the TCT gig that featured acts such as, "The Fratellis" & Roger Daltrey from "The Who" "Phats and small" and Janet from "The Shapeshifters" and playing at the Mallory Park Motocross GP.
When I'm not Drumming...
I play Guitar & Bass, I'm into writing my own tunes and like to put as much input into a song as I can. I also record bands at my home studio
