Lyrical Facey_The Story So Far...I was born to Jamaican parents in London,as one of 6 children who all shared a love of music,i realised from an early age that i wanted to be involved with music in some shape or form. From an early age i started to go to Shubb inns,Blues Dance,House Partys then Clubs to DanceHalls and StageShows.By the age of 12 under the name 'Crucial Sandy' I had put Together my own sound system called General Symbolic after a few years this sound developed into a sound called Young Diamond,we built up a lot of local recognition as we had a good following and were playing out at different functions. At 15 I developed My love for the microphone more seriously and started performing for my sound.I have worked on sound systems such as City Mix,Sweet Success,Highteous and Saxon.
Whilst working with artists other DJ's would comment on my lyrical style and content as being cheeky, quite facety. It was at this time that I was renamed 'Lyrical Facey' was born.
I got my first major break at age 25.I released my first 2 songs on a debut album for the record label 'Voice In Progress' entilted 'MILITANT SOLDIER'
The LP which included the tracks,'Warning' and 'Tings Ah Gwaan' was released in London and parts of Europe, but did particularly well in France.
I took a lot of pleasure from seeing my Face on LP covers selling in leading record shops. The experience inspired me to to persevere further with my music career.I concentrated hard on my song writing, taking inspiration from other artists around the world.I write my songs based on everything and anything, from everyday life to everyday people, spoken about in the way that I see things, but adding my own sense of humour to create my own unmistakable style.I have done a wide range of performances at various stage shows in London and Jamaica performing in Theatres,Clubs and a Gospel show in the UK,once sharing a stage with 'L.T Stichi'.I've been performing at Lewisham Peoples Day,a family event.in July 2003 this event had its biggest ever attendance rate and I performed infront of an estimated 37,000 people. The experience was exhilarating and the feedback from the crowd reminded me of why I came into this business.I do this for the love of the music, because if money was my cause, i would have stopped a long time ago.
i know my future rests solely in my hands, with hard work and dedication i am confident that i shall achieve my goals.lyrical facey
