About Me

Blai Vidal, singer, guitarrist and composer was born in Palma de Mallorca in 1980. Sorrounded by musical atmosphere in his family, he started musical studies at only 7 years old and at 12 he decided to board in the life adventure and to express himself with the art of Music. At 13 years old he formed his first band called "Spike Jonze" with this group he moves between melodic alternative rock, grunge and pop styles. This cycle finishes at 17 years old when he starts to study at Arts School in Palma de Mallorca. There he rejoins a new group called "Toy Box" and he starts to try mixing other styles, as funky and blues. This Project goes to on end When Vidal decides to go on with his musical studies in Barcelona and he begins The Music Professional Grade there. During his first years in that City he plays alone and chooses as his main stage the Railway Station Muntaner (BCN) where gets ideas late at night. In a trip to "Live Music Festival" in Vic he meets Pol Parera (Percussionist and drummer) and Bernat Guardia (Bass guitar player and double bass player) and there they decide to form "The 13th___Session" project, wich is based in multicultural expression open to others musicians. In the Summer 2003 Blai Vidal reforms his Trio since he goes back to Mallorca and this time he joins with Miki Campins (Percussionist and Drumer) and Gabriel Cruz (Bass Guitar player and Double Bass player). We should point out that they were Finalist in the Contest "Young Artists 2003 of Contemporany Music of Balearic Islands".Nowadays he plays single - homeded but also with his quartet called "Art Ensemble", wich is composed by Omar Lanuti (Guitarrist), Rubén García (Percussionist and Drummer) and Joan Toni Torrandell (Bass guitar player and Double Bass player). With this groupVidal Music becomes chamaleonic-like and Underground sounds, Jazz & Fussion are mixed. He has performed in different Music Club's in Catalonia and Balearic Islands.
