Born in 1972 into a family from Equatorial Guinea, Concha Buika grew up alongside a gypsy community on the Spanish island of Mallorca. She is considered a new star in flamenco music, with a remarkable voice that has been described as a mix of tina Turner, Lola Flores and Sarah Vaughan. Buika mixes soul, jazz and funk with raw flamenco to telling effect. After featurings on several deep house productions she brought out her first solo CD in 2006, “Mi Niña Lolaâ€.
Buika shares her time between Mallorca and Madrid.
