A Rave From The Grave

About Me

MyGen Profile Generator

I am a defunct pub and music venue that started life as The Thames Hotel, an attractive Edwardian building on the banks of River Thames in Windsor. Legend has it that Hendrix and The Stones played in me in the Sixties. But then it's true what people say: if you can remember the Sixties - you weren't really there. I was there, I know - I can't remember a thing.
I remember the Eighties and Nineties pretty well though - I have my own site (that needs some maintainance I grant you) which helps me keep my memory in good nick. That's where you can trawl through the records of who played in me between 1988 and 1995. I don't like to talk about '95 too much though, because that's when those bastards at Ind Coope Breweries knocked down my function room and turned me into a 'firkin'. Oh, the indignity!
I'd like to thank everyone who put their names onto the petitons to keep me open before that fateful event, and also to everyone who has visited my website over the years since. Here you can still read up on the history of the venue and access a database of all the gigs that took place between 1988 and 1995:
The Old Trout, Windsor, England: A Music Venue 1988 - 1995

This MySpace thing is just a place where old Trout-goers can make contact, catch up with each other and leave messages etc. I'd like to wish you all the very best; good luck in everything you do... and keep music live!

My Interests

Music and alcohol. I also like train sets.

I'd like to meet:

Old friends - and some new ones too. Please contact any old mates who may want to see me again. Thanks, O.T.

Music:

Too many bands, too many styles - go to

My Website

, and delve.

Movies:

I don't get to the cinema much - I'm only a memory. However, I do enjoy watching this old video from a programme called 'Here and Now'. Besides my exterior and interior, there's some footage of local indie lads, the Drowning Room.

Television:

Alas no, the TV got damaged when I got demolished.

Books:

'Three Men in a Boat' by Jerome K. Jerome

Heroes:

People who had a good time in me and who continue to think fondly of me.

Oh, and my former lighting guy wants me to put this on the profile. Something about a 'podcast novel' he's written.

My Blog

Beresford and JJ

I found this at a Stranglers website and thought you might enjoy it. It features not only JJ from the Stranglers, but Windsor's favourite doorman, Beresford.See the entire gallery at the Burning Up Ti...
