I love a good lick

About Me

I'm a single mom with two of the funnest kids you'll ever hang out with. They're also the most important people in my life. I can be a little crazy, but crazy in a good way. After 3 yrs of being focused on what was going on in my life "externally," I've started working on ME. I re-joined Weight Watchers (for the last time!) and I've recently become a Turbo Jam addict! I work out 6-7 days a week. I still catch myself dancing in my car, and I love dancing in the kitchen with my kids. They think it's hilarious when I shake my big ol' butt! My life pretty much revolves around my kids, my dogs and music. I've been playing the piano since I was 9, banjo since 13, and I also want to learn drums, guitar and cello (Alejandro's celloist rocks!). I don't have much time for a boyfriend since I spend most of my time with my kids. I treat everyone with respect until they disrespect me or my family. I volunteer for Tara's House and Mason County's "Dog Rescue Team" (DiRT) . They save animals from rural OH and WV kill shelters and put them in foster homes until they find a new "forever" home. I'm a huge advocate of spay/neuter, so please don't tell me you want your dog to have just one litter of puppies, 'cause I'll wanna smack you upside your head. There are enough puppies in the shelters, spay your damn dog! If you can't afford it, SpayUSA makes it easy. Git 'er done! I have two dogs of my own, and foster during moments of weakness. I also design t-shirts to raise money for Tara's House. All the animals in my designs were rescued from Mason County Animal Shelter in Pt. Pleasant, WV. WARNING: There's a graphic photo from an animal shelter in my pics.

My Interests

Listening to my kids tell me about something they learned, playing with my dogs, Turbo Jam!!!, saving homeless animals, playing my piano and my new banjo (yeah!), kissing, reading, baseball (O's!) and hockey, dancing in my kitchen or to a live band, lip gloss, shoes...LOTS of black shoes, and helping people in need.

I'd like to meet:

...other animal lovers and people interested in rescue. Anyone really, as long as they're honest and respectful. I love learning new things from the people I meet. Someone who has the patience to teach me guitar would be good. Someone to dance with and go to shows with would be better. No liars or cheaters, or assholes in general. If you're "married and looking," keep looking. If you send me a friend request without sending a message, don't expect me to add you. I'm not a friend collector, and I only add bands I'm interested in keeping up with.

Music:

Lloyd Cole, BoDeans, the Cure, Dramarama, the Doors (no, Richard, they are NOT overrated!), bob, Billy Idol, Faith No More, Wire Train, Refreshments, Michelle Malone, Indigo Girls, Kirsty MacColl, Social D, Fountains of Wayne, Offspring, Weezer, Slimmer Twins, Blues Vultures , New Radicals, Tyla/Dogs D'Amour, KIX, Old 97s, The Alarm, Crack the Sky, Gene Loves Jezebel, Drive-By Truckers, Kevn Kinney/Drivin' n' Cryin', Supersuckers, Johnny Thunders, Tom Petty, New York Dolls, Ramones, Alejandro Escovedo, Sidewinders/Sand Rubies, Tango Down, Specials, Pogues, Mozart, Puccini, Dr. John, Scott Joplin, the Smiths, Charlotte Martin, Rickie Lee Jones, Kate Bush, Bonnie Raitt, Steve Earle, Jackson Browne, RAM, Tesla...no particular order. There's more, but this was long enough. 98Rock, 94.7 or 89.7 WTMD on the radio, and pretty much everything on Radioio80s!!!

Movies:

The Fisher King, Working Girl, 9 1/2 Weeks (better than porn!), Notting Hill, Some Kind of Wonderful, The Outsiders, Bambi, Rebel Without a Cause, West Side Story, Almost Famous, Breakfast at Tiffany's, Thelma and Louise

Television:

Anything about ghosts, animals, music or dancing, Desperate Housewives, Grey's Anatomy, 24, whatever show Eddie Cibrian is on. I tape stuff and try to catch up on the weekends.

Books:

Where the Red Fern Grows, Wuthering Heights, The Catcher in the Rye, The Fountainhead, anything by Anne Tyler or Carrie Fisher, Stephanie Plum series. I'm reading Debby Holt's The Ex-Wife's Survival Guide. Would've read Jack and Jill, but John ruined the ending. Thanks John.

Heroes:

My parents; those who save lives and protect our country; MLK; Lorena Bobbitt; and anyone who adopts their pets instead of buying from a pet store or backyard breeder.
