About Me

"Never forget the true purpose of this music; live free, spread the message, dance the dance, and be one with each other."
I was born and raised mostly in Ontario Canada, I lived for three years in the middle east when I was very young and that's where i was first introduced to my passion for music.
I started to learn to play the piano at the age of 6 in afterschool activities at SAISR Riyadh. All I had to play to learn keyboarding was a laminated paper keyboard until my family purchased a Yamaha electric keyboard a year later.
I played and learned practical and piano theory for 10 years completing my Grade 10 Practical piano and Grade 3 Rudiments of music through the Royal Conservatory of Music CAN. In Grade 6 I took up the Clarinet for two years, then changed to Alto Sax for another two, After that i played classical guitar for a short stint and also played drums for my church's youth group for a while.
in 1994 When i was 14 i began to get into Electronic music and going to raves in my home town, and started to collect music to DJ in '95. I didn't find Psytrance until 1996 when i was looking in the record shop and came accross a section nect to the trance section called "GOA"—The store clerk tried to steer me away from it with tales of dirty hippies and crazy Indian music. At that point i had to hear it for myself since i had not liked one piece of music that the clerk recommended as "good". That was eye opener number one for me with this music, i fell in love with it instantly and have played Psytrance ever since!
My second eye opener with this music was the first full-on psytrance party I went to in Montreal Quebec called "Miranda" in 1998, and featured my now good friend Matt Boom. I had been playing psytrance at events in my home town by this point for 2 years and did not know what the music was all about, just that it sounded great. Around the time that mr BooM! went on (laying on a killer Ubar Tmar tune from the Double Dipped Album), my third eye was pried open and my realization of the deep spiritual nature of psychedelic trance was peaked ;) Ever since then This music has been a large part of my life and is one of the things that i love most in the world. And every time i attend a psytrance event it's like discovering myself and this music all over again. I truly believe that prolonged exposure to this music can benefit the human psyche.
I began to write psytrance (or at least my version of it since i wanted to attempt to develop my own ideas and sounds) in 2000. I spent many years developing my sound as a hobby as i was very busy travelling and working in Arctic Canada with my father—the arctic tundra is where i get my main inspiration. I did not get my first release until 2006 when i was signed with Geomagnetic. I made two releases with them but have elected to search out other avenues to share my music with the masses. I have collected music for a compilation "Real Eyes" and am currently seeking a label to release it through.
Along with being active in the Ottawa scene helping out with events in the area as well as throwing a few of my own, i have had the opportunity to play in the United States as well as the Netherlands. Recently I have joined the Materia collective as their webmaster and label DJ, I look forward to supporting their musical endeavours :)
That about sums up me musically, Thanks for taking the time to share my life here. I invite you to listen to my tunes and provide any feedback, criticism, or hate mail (jk) :)
I would love to come play and share my music, or just chat about trance production and life in general so feel free to add me to your msn: [email protected] (not used for email)
