Formerly known as DJ Dew, Yann was introduced to the underground electronic scene in the early 90's. These events were an eye opening experience and filled him with a new musical sense. 1996 was a turning point for Yann, as he started spinning and organizing parties with E.O.M.F. and subsequently founded Cosmogony Concept. At this point, the promoter has evolved into one of the most respected DJs in Eastern Canada and is an active member of Tech Safari Productions. Co-founder of the Amazone Nights and Eclipse Summer Electronic Festival, Yann is Tech Safari's Web design and publicity master. His creative views make him an important member of the collective. He's also involved in finding innovative ways to put Tech Safari on the map and to come up with ideas and projects that will set the group apart.
Today, Yann has a performance history that boasts several residencies and over 200 major events in North America (New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, Black Rock City, Vancouver, Calgary, Toronto. etc.) and on an international level (Morocco, Serbia, Czech Republic). In 2004, the German label Headroom Productions made Yann their North American representative and in early 2007 Yann was also named label DJ for Serbian based Ultra Groove Records. As one of Canada's best known psytrance DJs and now also considered as an exceptional electro and progressive DJ, Yann can read any crowd. Progressing with the music and in technique, he now plays an engaging unique sound that blends groovy psychedelic trance with original, percussive, banging beats. His recent sets have included a mix of electro based sounds (126-131 bpm) and psytrance (139-144 bpm). Each performance has provided him with the opportunity to play alongside world-renowned talent such as X-Dream, Hallucinogen, Astrix, James Monro, Tim Schuldt, Absolum, Infected Mushroom, Kox Box, The Delta, Dino Psaras, Son Kite, Deedrah, Ticon, Pixel, Talamasca and many others.
